Apple lowers Hulu plan bought through iTunes $2.00 a month
Subscribers to Hulu’s no-commercial service bought through iTunes and the Apple TV App Store will now pay $2.00 less a month than other subscribers after what appears to be a dropping of a service fee.
Hulu subscribers have been receiving emails from the service in the p[ast few days, like the one shown below that was supplied by a BESTAppleTV.com reader Thursday, informing them of the discount that will reduce their monthly price from $13.99 to $11.99 a month if originally bought on iOS and TVOS devices through iTunes.
The discount is a dropping by either Hulu, Apple, or both of a $2 a month service fee associated with iTunes. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Hulu’s limited commercials package will still cost $7.99 per month, but is offering potential customers a special offer for $5.99 for the first year of service, although this offer is not available through the Apple TV App Store. The Hulu Live TV service is not affected by the discount, priced at $39.99 a month for 55 channels.
Hulu has been available on Apple TV since June of 2010 and is available through the AppStore.
