YouTube TV addresses, apologizes for Apple TV errors
At about 7pm EST on Monday, February 25th, BESTAppleTV started receiving reports from readers that the live streaming service, YouTube TV, was down on their Apple TV devices. Most reported that launching the app would not advance beyond the spinning loading symbol, with some also mentioning that the app did still work on their iPhones.
The trouble was soon picked up by various news outlets, backed by confirmation from plenty of Reddit users.
BESTAppleTV reached out to Google for comment, and soon after service was returned, the following statement was released:
“Some people encountered errors when trying to access YouTube TV on Apple TV yesterday. We worked quickly to address the issue and fixed the problem. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this caused.”
It seems that not all Apple TV users experienced the trouble connecting to YouTube TV, and Google offered no explanation as to why some encountered the error.
Still, it’s good to see the company hop on the problem that quickly, fix it, and issue an apology. The YouTube TV service has been live on Apple TV for just over a year now, and aside from a few notable hiccups it has been relatively stable.
