What’s new for Apple TV, December 13th, 2018

It doesn’t matter if you want to laugh over some memes, defend deep space, check your horoscope or go on a Rayman adventure, we’ve got some new and updated Apple TV apps for you.

Prices provided below are accurate at press time. Free downloads are for the app only and may require a subscription or in-app purchases for full functionality.

New Apple TV Apps:

  • Radio Control Challenge ($2.99) – “Relive the thrill of operating radio control vehicles.” Cars, jet skis, helicopters, tanks…everything you can’t control in real life can be piloted here.
  • WildBrain (free) – WildBrain, you make my heart sing for kids shows such as Inspector Gadget, Caillou, Kiddyzuzaa, Degrassi and the Telletubbies.
  • Coubicle TV (free) – Easy access to memes, funny scenes, and animation. Loop them or mix them up.
  • Super Flying Dragon (free) – I’m going to be honest with you; I was more into this when I thought it was a new Kung Fu style. But as a platform game for children, it still looks pretty good.
  • Escape: Close Call (free) – A driving game that rewards you for near misses. It’s not enough to escape, you need to escape with style.

Updated Apple TV Apps:

  • DayView – Personal Dashboard (free) – This well-developed and highly rated organizer has been updated with three new HomeKit widgets and some bug fixes. In addition, DayView Pro is now available with multiple widgets and custom wallpapers. Check out our full coverage.
  • Best Rally TV ($3.99) – This Siri Remote-compatible “miniature” racing game has been updated with new snow-based levels. No word on whether you need to put on your tire chains.
  • 2018 Astrology Premium ($6.99) – The name may not reflect it, but this horoscope and numerology app has been updated for 2019. In fact, the whole app has received an overhaul, complete with UI improvements, animations, and support for multiple accounts/players.
  • Deep Space Defender (free) – “Enemies are spawn to your outpost at constantly accelerating speed and gravity from your Space Cannon is against you.” I’ll leave it at that, and just point out that you can now defend deep space with your Apple TV and Apple Watch.
  • Rayman Adventures (free) – This epic platformer from Ubisoft is a perfect match for Apple TV. And with this latest update, it’s a perfect match for the winter season.
