What’s new for Apple TV, November 15th, 2018

TMS Anime embraces the Apple TV with two apps for different age groups this week. Other new Apple TV apps include an arcade throwback and a collection of clocks.

The updated Apple TV app highlights focus on car sharing, shark evolution, aquarium serenity, and the first (of many) Christmas app updates.

Prices provided below are accurate at press time. Free downloads are for the app only and may require a subscription or in-app purchases for full functionality.

New Apple TV Apps:

  • Rotostellar ($4.99) – We told you about this vector graphics arcade throwback earlier this week, and want to make sure you were paying attention. Cool to look at and fun to play with your Siri Remote.
  • TMS Anime (free) – Watch your favorite TMS Anime shows—including titles such as Lupin the 3rd, Space Adventure Cobra, and Bananya—in one handy location.
  • TMS Kids! (free) – TMS Anime for the younger crowd. Sonic X, Monster Rancher, Galaxy high, Sherlock Hound, and more.
  • TV Clocks ($0.99) – A variety of digital and analog style clock faces for your Apple TV. There’s even a grandfather clock, complete with sound effects.

Updated Apple TV Apps:

  • Streaks Workout ($4.99) – While a bigger update to this personal trainer app is in the works, this rollout includes the option to set the amount of time it gives you to get into position for your exercise.
  • Turo – Better Than Car Rental (free) – Apple TV-specific update to help provide a better browsing experience for this peer-to-peer car sharing app.
  • Hungry Shark Evolution (free) – Mostly bug fixes for Ubisoft’s action-packed aquatic adventure game, but there as some new live events to satisfy your hunger, too.
  • Pile Up Christmas Puzzle ($0.99) – Here come the Christmas app updates. This one’s a “gift” matching game for kids.
  • Starz (free) – Subscribers get faster load times, an improved home screen experience, better navigation, easier login, and improved profiles. If you’re not a subscriber, try them out with the Starz Free Trial.
  • Peaceful Aquarium ($1.99) – As opposed to all of those cacophonous aquariums out there. Updated with improved HD video.
