What’s new for Apple TV, November 23rd, 2018

Black Friday isn’t what it used to be, what with it now be spread throughout Black November, really. So, if you’re off work today and have nothing to shop for, why not take a look at some new and updated apps for your Apple TV?

New Apple TV Apps:

  • Sixdoku (free) – Over 500 6×6 Sudoku puzzles at five difficulty levels.
  • Storm Boy ($2.99) – Interactive digital version of the classic book about a boy and his pet pelican that’s soon to get its second theatrical release. Check our full coverage for details.
  • TV Info (free) – Monitor your Apple TV’s storage space, CPU usage, memory usage, CU thermal state, and more.
  • Stock Investor ($0.99) – Track your portfolio on your Apple TV. See openings, highs, lows, volume, P/E and much more. Includes Siri compatibility and can be synced across multiple Apple TV units with iCloud support.
  • Ukulele 101 – Next Steps ($1.99) – Finished up Ukulele 101 – Getting Started? Well, the next steps are now available, and they’re inexplicably a separate purchase.
  • Illusion Eye (free) – Remember that brief moment in the ’90s when your friends had those stereogram posters and would laugh as you started at them trying to see the 3D image hidden inside? Here’s your chance to get even with them.

Updated Apple TV Apps:

  • Trials Frontier (free) – This update to the skill-based racing game from Ubisoft launches the biggest PvP marathon ever in the Frontier. Win the speedrunner outfit and two new tracks.
  • Starz (free) – The streaming channel gets faster load times, an improved homescreen experience, better navigation, easier logins, and improved profiles.
  • Sporty’s Pilot Training (free) – For those who have ever imagined being stuck on a plane you suddenly have to land. Or, in this case of the specific update, stuck on a Garmin G1000 you suddenly have to land.
  • Hotstar (free) – A complete overhaul for this streaming app that gives you access to your favorite TV shows, movies, sports, and live news.
