What’s new for Apple TV, November 8th, 2018

Teslagrad highlights this week’s new Apple TV games, although fans of games that involve tiny creatures that communicate through body fluids and emojis may disagree.

We’ve also got new apps to help you plan your day and master wiring and controls, as well as updates to PBS Video, Bleacher Report Live, Cryptograph, and more.

Prices provided below are accurate at press time. Free downloads are for the app only and may require a subscription or in-app purchases for full functionality.

New Apple TV Apps:

  • Teslagrad ($4.99) – Just released today, Teslagrad is a “2D puzzle-platformer with action elements where magnetism and other electromagnetic powers are the key…” Excellent graphics and gameplay, and no in-app purchases or ads. Check our full preview for details.
  • Spitkiss ($1.99) – It may sound disturbing, and it is about “… tiny creatures that communicate through body fluids and emojis …” but it’s also a one finger platformer that makes it perfect for playing on Apple TV. It’s also won numerous awards, in case you’re not taking it seriously.
  • Dayview – Personal Dashboard (free) – A customizable dashboard that uses widgets to show you info on your commute, calendar, news, stocks, time, twitter, and weather.
  • Wiring & Controls ($9.99) – Master two and three-port controls with the help of Mr. Combi. 19 chapters with 73 minutes of all new content.

Updated Apple TV Apps:

  • MWeather TV – Weather Forecast (free) – Just in time for winter, this weather app has been updated with better wind and snow icon visibility.
  • PBS Video (free) – Now with Apple Universal Search and “TV” app integration.
  • Movies Anywhere (free) – Watch all your movies in one app no matter from where you purchased them. New releases include The Meg, Incredibles 2, and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
  • Bleacher Report Live (free) – The latest update will bring National Lacrosse League season streams to B/R Live in December, UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Europa League matches, and out-of-market NBA games with NBA League Pass, including a new option to purchase just the fourth quarter for $1.99.
  • Cubic Tower (free) – If you tried this tower-building game before and didn’t like it, take another look. Gameplay has been improved.
  • Cryptograph – Monitor Crypto (free) – The Apple TV-exclusive way to monitor Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and hundreds of other cryptocurrency prices and trends in real-time.
