What’s new for Apple TV, October 11th, 2018

Whether you use your Apple TV to play games, solve complex math equations or just trip out, new and updated apps await you. More specifically, we’ve got a juggling sim, a scientific calculator, presentation software, and more. And if you’ve been looking for a better way to manage your Apple TV screensavers, we’ve found a pretty good option.

Prices provided below are accurate at press time. Free downloads are for the app only and may require a subscription or in-app purchases for full functionality.

New Apple TV Apps:

  • Origins One ($4.99) – “Origins is an immersive and mesmeric artistic experience, illustrative of the world and where we’re from.” That’s $5.00 worth of trippy.
  • Mr. Juggler (free) – Juggle everything from wrenches to teeth, get over 25 characters, and work your way up to Turbo Circus Mode all without having to actually throw your Siri Remote.
  • Nonstop Numbers (free) – Remember all those math classes where you thought, “When am I ever going to use this in real life?” Well, now you have to use the power of math to defeat aliens. A good way for kids to practice decimals, fractions, and percentages.
  • Show – View, Import, Present (free) – It’s all right there in the title; “Choose a presentation (.pptx) from any cloud service (including iCloud, GDrive, and Dropbox) and deliver using Apple TV.”
  • Stupefy (free) – Like charades or Pictionary, but with a team trying to get a single player to guess the subject in a variety of topics. Each round restricts how you’re able to provide clues.

Updated Apple TV Apps:

  • Shadowfire (free) – Rescue the ambassador within 100 real-time minutes. If you are successful further orders will be issued.
  • CP Clock ($0.99) – An extremely basic clock for the minimalists out there.
  • Rayman Adventures (free) – Not all A-level publishers are giving up on Apple TV. Ubisoft has just updated the immensely popular Rayman Adventures with two new Incrediball families: Draggos and Gollem.
  • AerialTV ($4.99) – Take control of your Apple TV screensavers. Determine what’s displayed, which videos show, etc. The update adds iOS 12 compatibility.
  • Calculator Smart (free) – An Apple TV calculator with standard and scientific modes (the latter with more than 30 scientific operations). It also has an incredible number of features and functions for the mathematically inclined, and multiple skins for the fashionably conscious. Now optimized for iOS 12.

Was AerialTV yanked from the App Store? I cannot find it.
