64GB Apple TV 4K US back order shipments ease to less than 3 weeks
Shipments of the Apple TV 4K with 64GB of storage eased somewhat in the U.S. from four to five weeks in late November of last year to less than three weeks as of Friday.
A check of 75 zip codes across the U.S. by BESTAppleTV.com showed all new orders of the model ordered through Apple’s online store would be delivered for an additional express fee between February 19th to 26th, or for free shipping between February 20th to 27th. That is some two to three weeks faster than orders placed days after Black Friday holiday sales. On Thursday, online shipments were still back ordered four to six weeks.
As of Friday, Apple’s U.S. online store showed new orders of the 64GB Apple TV 4K model were now shipping some two to three weeks faster.
Online orders of the 64GB model for pickup in Apple retail stores have been the same day in the majority of stores for the past three weeks, showing the availability for pickup or delivery has been improving as the tech giant replenishes supplies since Christmas.
BESTAppleTV.com reported November 28th that the top-end model was virtually unavailable worldwide for unknown reasons. Orders through third-party retailers in America – ones who even had the model in stock – dried up quickly as Christmas buyers scrambled to find available units.
32GB models of the newest streaming media device have not been affected by shortages.
