Apple nears deal for sci-fi drama from Simon Kinberg & David Weil

Apple has reportedly near completion of a deal for a 10-episode deal for a sci-fi series from producers Simon Kinberg (shown above) and David Weil for their future streaming service that is set to be announced this year.

The entertainment industry website Deadline reported the deal Thursday, but little is known about the plot or direction of the science fiction drama.

The Apple series is just the latest TV project for Kinberg, whose Genre Films will have five shows in production this year.

Kinberg is known primarily for his work on the X-Men series, as well as the movies The Fantastic Four, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Martian, and Jumper.

Weil is a producer and actor, known for Moonfall, Half Heard in the Stillness and The Hunt.
