Apple releases tvOS 12.0.1 update

Apple released tvOS 12.0.1 Monday, a minor update of the operating system for fourth and fifth-generation Apple TV models. It comes just one week after the release of tvOS 12.

The update is tvOS 12.0.1, build number 16J380.

Notes were not included after applying the update, but minor bug and security fixes – many connected to iOS 12 – are primarily the focus of such immediate releases so soon after the golden master of an operating system. No immediate visual changes were seen after installation by BESTAppleTV.

tvOS 12.1 beta can be downloaded manually by going to the ‘Settings’ app on Apple TV, navigating to ‘System’, then to ‘Software Updates’. Apple TV can also be set up to receive updates automatically by turning on the ‘Automatically Update’ selection on the same screen.
