Apple revises events app a week before Sept. 12th product unveiling

Apple updated the Events app on the Apple TV Wednesday ahead of its product announcement event on September 12 at noon Eastern Time. The product unveiling is expected to focus on a series of new iPhone models with no upgraded Apple TV device.

The Events app requires users to manually update through the Apple TV App Store and is currently being highlighted on the App Store banner.

The Events app, along with a special Events section of Apple’s website, will be used to live stream the product unveilings. Apple’s ‘Gather Round’ event will begin at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park campus. 

The ceremony is expected to see the debut of three new iPhones, new Apple Watch models, and new accessories. Apple is not expected to announce new TV programming the company has signed on to have produced.
