Carpool Karaoke now free on Apple TV
If you’re a fan of watching people sing songs inside a car but are not a fan of Apple Music, here’s some good news for you. Season one of Apple’s Carpool Karaoke is now available for free viewing via Apple’s TV app. All 19 episodes that comprise season one can be streaming on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.
Carpool Karaoke was originally hosted by James Corden and appeared as a segment on The Late Late Show on CBS. The general gist is that the host (drive) has celebrities sing along to various songs (often their own) as they drive around. The videos often became viral sensations, prompting Apple to buy the rights to the concept in 2016 and make the show available solely to those with an Apple Music subscription.
Now’s your chance to catch up on what you’ve been missing, as originally reported by Billboard. Through the TV app on iOS devices or Apple TV, you can ride/sing along with the likes of John Cena, Ariana Grande, LeBron James, Alicia Keys, John Legend, and Seth McFarlane. James Corden is no longer the show’s official host, but he does appear in some episodes.
Carpool Karaoke has been picked up by Apple for a second season, which at least initially will be available only for Apple Music subscribers. We’ll see if they roll the show into the list of other programs they have in development once a delivery method is officially announced.
