CBS All Access expands to Canada

In its first expansion outside the U.S., the streaming video-on-demand service, CBS All Access, has launched in Canada.

The service will offer Canadian viewers more than 7,500 commercial-free episodes on demand for $6 Canadian a month. The service is launching first on Apple TV and Google Chromecast.

The service also includes entire previous seasons of CBS shows, classic shows, as well as the ability to live stream CBSN, CBS News’ 24/7 streaming news service.

The Canadian version of the product does not have two distinctive features of the U.S. version. Canadian viewers will not have access to the the sci-fi series Star Trek: Discovery as it is licensed for distribution to Bell Media Canada and its CTV network, and will not have a live stream of the CBS Television Network.

CBS All Access launched in Oct. 2014 and is available through its Apple TV app.
