DirecTV Now adds NFL Network to lineup

A little more than a month from the start of the National Football League’s 99th season, DirecTV Now has added NFL Network to its $55-a-month Just Right and above channel bundles. DirecTV Now confirmed the addition Wednesday morning in a blog post.

The network covers news, highlights and football-related features around-the-clock. It plans to air 64 pre-season games this month and 13 Thursday night regular-season matchups beginning September 6th.

According to AT&T, the parent company of DirecTV Now, customers will also soon have access to stream NFL Network through Watch NFL Network, available on NFL.com and the NFL app on mobile devices and Apple TV.

The addition of NFL Network on DirecTV Now does not include the RedZone channel, which for an additional fee or package add-on through other services provides ‘whip around’ simulcast coverage of all Sunday afternoon games airing in-progress on CBS and Fox.

NFL Network is already part of three competing live streaming services – Playstation Vue, Sling TV and Fubo TV – and all three include the availability of NFL RedZone.

DirecTV Now launched in November 2016 using the Apple TV app. The service has an entry-level package price of $40 per month for over 65 channels.
