DirecTV Now scraps 32GB Apple TV 4K offer

DirecTV Now has ended its nine-month-long promotion of offering a free 32GB Apple TV 4K to new customers who prepay for a three-month subscription to the live streaming service. Its termination brings to an end the biggest discounted offer on the device and service that effectively reduced the price of the Apple TV and three months of service to $105 plus tax with the $40-a-month plan.

Links to the offer on the service’s website have been removed as of August 31st.

The streaming service’s original offer was first introduced last November and was timed to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the service’s launch, It was not the first time DirecTV Now has promoted a free Apple TV. It did the same in November 2016 when the service debuted.

The offer was extended more than five times since last November. Earlier this year the promotion was reduced from four months to three months.

DirecTV Now was the only live streaming service offering an Apple TV unit and service in a bundled offer. Other services, including DirecTV Now, continue to offer Roku devices.

DirecTV Now launched in November 2016 using the Apple TV app. The service offers an entry-level package price of $40 per month for over 60 channels.
