Disney, Marvel movies finally available for 4K streaming
Although Disney continues to annoy fans by making their movies harder to access online, they finally tossed Apple TV 4K users a bone by releasing 4K UHD versions of Disney, Pixar and Marvel films.
You still won’t be able to get them through iTunes, and likely won’t as long as Apple continues to insist that 4K purchases and rentals cost the same as their HD counterparts. Instead, Disney has made the movies available through the Vudu app, and will charge a $5 premium for the 4K versions ($24.99 vs. $19.99).
Thankfully, the Vudu app itself is free. In fact, so are many of the movies available through the app (albeit with limited commercials). Both the paid and free content can be streamed straight to your iOS devices or Apple TV, and a lot of that content was already available in 4K; Disney’s just catching up.
Vudu also allows users to:
- Browse a library of around 100,000 titles
- Download movies and TV to watch offline and on the go
- View their movies in one place by linking UltraViolet and Movies Anywhere accounts
The Vudu app is available now for free in the App Store and does not require a subscription for use. For more information, visit www.vudu.com.
What titles are available?
This is good question because VUDU doesn’t offer any API so it’s difficult to find one.
To be honest even Apple didnt provide that info directly so you have to ofter find by hand
