FuboTV Premier hikes new customer rates to $45
After a jammed pack few months of adding new networks and local network affiliates, the sports-focused live streaming service FuboTV Premier has upped their prices for new subscribers to $44.99 a month.
Only less than six months ago FuboTV was $34.99 a month after a two-month discount. In explaining its price rise, the service reminded customers that it now streams nearly 200 local affiliate stations, giving evidence that the price rise is due in part to the increased cost of paying fees to those affiliates and their networks.
The service currently broadcasts 172 local NBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox network affiliates in various U.S. markets, according to Streambuzz.net and its local affiliate chart. That makes FuboTV Premier the fifth largest live streaming service of local affiliates behind Hulu with Live TV which has 520.
The price hike will not affect current subscribers, the email explained. The announcement was not released to the public via an official press release.
FuboTV Premier is available on Apple TV as an app through the App Store streaming more than 70 live channels. The service does not offer the MLB Network, Discovery Network channels, CNN or ESPN and its related channels, including regional networks such as the SEC Network.
