Hulu with Live TV updated with Live Guide
One of the hardest obstacles to overcome when cutting the cord is losing access to an easily navigable list of live shows. You either have to know what’s on when, or you have to know where to look. That makes channel surfing for live shows more of a hassle, but Hulu has just tackled the issue with Live Guide.
As Hulu describes it:
Live Guide is a next-generation experience that will help cord-cutters, traditional cable users, and everyone in between find what to watch as quickly as possible. It’s slick, without any unnecessary details that would get in the way of your watching experience.
Hulu with Live TV subscribers will now see a lightning icon in their app’s global navigation. Tap that icon to see what’s available live, with playback starting immediately on your last-watched channel.
You can also access the Live Guide by swiping down on your Siri Remote while watching live TV. By default, Live Guide shows a list of all of your recently watched channels. You can then scroll on each channel’s row to see what’s coming up in the next 24 hours. If you’d rather Live Guide show all channels, you can select that option.
In either mode, you can record any live program or future broadcast to your cloud DVR with just one click.
Hulu with Live TV launched in May 2016 and is jointly owned by Fox, Disney/ABC, Comcast/NBC Universal and Time Warner. The app is available now for free in the App Store, with Live TV subscriptions starting at $39.99/month.
