Last chance (maybe) to get a free Apple TV 4K from DirecTV Now

It seems like DirecTV Now has been giving away a free Apple TV 4K with a paid subscription to the service from the moment it first hit stores. We first reported on the deal back on November 17th, 2017, which at the time gave viewers a 32GB Apple TV 4K with a four-month prepaid subscription to the DirecTV Now live streaming TV service. Originally set to end on March 31st, 2018, the prepaid subscription requirement was dropped to three months and the deal’s expiration was pushed back a couple of times, taking us to the current end-date of May 31st.

We suspect the offer keeps getting extended because it’s a rather incredible deal that is likely bringing quite a few new customers to DirecTV Now (they were at 1.2 million subscribers as of February 1st, 2018). Considering the 32GB Apple TV 4K will cost you $170 at the store, getting it for what amounts to $105 ($35/month for the DirecTV Now “Live a Little” package) at the lowest qualifying subscription rate is a significant discount. Even if you cancel DirecTV Now after three months, the Apple TV is yours to keep and you’ve basically just saved $65 on its purchase.

If you’re interested in trying out DirecTV Now but don’t need the Apple TV, AT&T is also offering a $25/month discount for new subscribers who prepay for the first three months of service. This $75 savings doesn’t match the Apple TV 4K deal, but at least you’re paying less up front.

In addition to the “Live a Little” package (60+ channels), both specials are also available at DirecTV Now’s “Just Right” ($50/month, 80+ channels), “Go Big” ($60/month, 100+ channels) and “Gotta Have It” ($70/month, 120+ channels) price points.

To take advantage of the free Apple TV 4K offer, visit before June 1st. And maybe after that. We’ll see.
