Microsoft joins Movies Anywhere service for Xbox, Windows users
Microsoft announced Monday it is joining Disney’s expanded Movies Anywhere service, allowing customers who purchase films the Movies & TV app on Xbox and Windows to link their content to Movies Anywhere. Movies purchased through Microsoft Movies & TV will now be available on other linked Movies Anywhere accounts, including iTunes, and therefore viewable on Apple TV.
Digital retailers supporting the service now include iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, VUDU, Google Play, FandangoNOW, and Microsoft Movies & TV. Movies Anywhere supports films from Walt Disney Studios (including Disney, Pixar, Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm), 20th Century Fox Film, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal Pictures (including DreamWorks and Illumination Entertainment) and Warner Bros.
As a bonus for syncing your Microsoft Movies and TV account with Movies Anywhere, the companies are giving access to X-Men: Days of Future Past for a limited time.
Microsoft’s FAQ page has more information on how to link the two accounts.
