Pantaflix VOD now available on Apple TV
Following its release on Amazon Fire TV, iOS, Android, Windows and the web, the Pantaflix video-on-demand service is now available for tvOS. With the app, Apple TV users can access content that, due to regional restrictions, is unavailable elsewhere.
Pantaflix is a unique service in that no subscription is required to access its available content. Rather, it’s more of a worldwide rental store; you pay to unlock a movie for 30 days, with prices ranging from $0.99 to $4.99. The movie expires 48 hours after you first start watching, giving you some time to rewatch. Rentals can also be downloaded and watched offline.
That’s not much different from iTunes, of course, except that Pantaflix specializes in making content available in spite of regional restrictions. Built by filmmakers, the Pantaflix team is “… committed to the idea that every film deserves to be available in as many countries as possible.”
Pantaflix content includes big-budget movies, cult classics, world cinema, documentaries, and festival winners, with TV series content on the way. All movies are available in full HD quality, and the app is available in German, English, French, Polish, Turkish and Chinese languages.
Apple TV users can take advantage of Siri voice control and will be able to make payments through their iTunes account.
Pantaflix is available now for free in the App Store. For more information on the service, visit www.pantaflix.com.
