Sling TV adds Cheddar Big News to lineup
Cheddar—a live streaming financial news network targeting millennials—has been available through Sling TV since 2016. Fans of the channel will be happy to hear that Sling TV continues to “support and advocate for industry disruption” by launching Cheddar Big News. Much like its predecessor, this new service offers fast-paced, non-partisan news and headlines, but now with a much broader range of topics to keep you in-the-loop on the latest breaking news.
Whereas Cheddar focuses on stocks and technology, Cheddar Big News covers more general daily news items, human interest stories, weather, science and sports. It will also roll in business coverage from Cheddar’s New York Stock Exchange studio and entertainment from their Los Angeles office, as well as political coverage from Washington D.C.
Sling TV is offering this at no extra cost to subscribers. Cheddar Big News is now part of the $20/month Sling Orange and $25/month Sling Blue packages, expanding their already diverse news options with Cheddar’s unique local-feel approach to national and international news.
Those who haven’t yet subscribed can try Sling TV free for 7 days. The Orange package gets you 30+ channels, while Blue offers over 45. You can combine the packages to get over 50 channels for $40/month, and there are various extras (including cloud DVR) that can also be added on.
