Starz comes to YouTube TV as $9 add-on
YouTube TV subscribers on Apple TV can now add 14 Starz movie channels to their subscription as the service announced the launch of its premium channels on the Google-owned online TV service Tuesday.
The channels, including Starz, Starz Cinema, Starz Comedy, Starz Edge, and Starz Kids & Family, are available to YouTube TV subscribers for a monthly price of $9.
The addition of Starz is an important one for the service which also has Showtime, but does not offer HBO.
Before teaming up with YouTube TV, Starz recently struck similar distribution deals with other online TV services, including DirecTV Now and Sling TV.
YouTube TV launched in April 2017 and is currently available in 99 U.S. cities (for a full list of cities, click here) broadcasting more than 50 traditional broadcast and cable networks. The service currently broadcasts 460 local network affiliates covering over 70 percent of the nation’s TV households. YouTube TV launched its app on Apple TV in February.
