The Criterion Collection now streaming to Apple TV
Cinema lovers rejoice; the Criterion Channel streaming service has launched with a library of over 1,000 feature films, 350 shorts, and thousands of trailers, behind-the-scenes documentaries, interviews, archival footage, and more.
As you’d expect from the Criterion Collection, feature content is presented in daily themes such as “Columbia Noir,” “Screenwriter: Suso Cecchi d’Amico,” and “Directed by David Lynch.” There’s a new theme each day to inspire you to find and try something new, but you always have access to Criterion’s entire streaming library that features constantly refreshed selections of Hollywood, international, art-house, and independent movies. Many titles are presented in their complete Blu-ray and DVD editions, and some unreleased titles are available, as well.
Additional features include:
- Ongoing programs of Hollywood, international, art-house, independent, documentary, and short films, including thematic programming, director and star retrospectives, and guest-curated series.
- Original Criterion Channel series such as Observations on Film Art, Adventures in Moviegoing, and Art-House America.
- Supplemental features to deepen your appreciation of the art of film, including audio commentaries, behind-the-scenes footage, scholarly analyses, introductions, new and archival interviews, and trailers.
Interested subscribers can try the Criterion Collection via the free, 14-day trial, after which the service will cost $10.99/month or $99.99/year.
