YouTube TV adds MLB Network & NBA TV days before price hike

YouTube TV has officially added NBA TV and MLB Network to its lineup of channels less than a week before its parent company, Google, raises its subscription price from $35 per month to $40 per month.

The company announced the additions officially February 14th, building the total number of channels offered to 60. Both NBA TV and MLB Network are subject to blackouts of games in a subscribers local market.

In addition to the channels, YouTube TV will be adding NBA League Pass and MLB.TV subscription packages in the coming months, giving consumers access to all out-of-market games for an additional fee.

As a result of the additional channels along with dozens of new local affiliate channels which increase the overall cost of services, YouTube TV is increasing its prices to $40 per month beginning March 13th. Current members or customers who sign up before then will retain the original $35-per-month price.

YouTube TV launched in April of 2017 and is currently available in 92 U.S. cities (for a full list of cities, click here). YouTube TV launched its app on Apple TV in February.

The service also broadcasts 373 local NBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox network affiliates in various U.S. markets, according to and its local affiliate chart. That makes YouTube TV the second largest live streaming service of local affiliates behind Hulu with Live TV which has 522.
