YouTube TV adds MLB Network & NBA TV days before price hike
The company announced the additions officially February 14th, building the total number of channels offered to 60. Both NBA TV and MLB Network are subject to blackouts of games in a subscribers local market.
As a result of the additional channels along with dozens of new local affiliate channels which increase the overall cost of services, YouTube TV is increasing its prices to $40 per month beginning March 13th. Current members or customers who sign up before then will retain the original $35-per-month price.
The service also broadcasts 373 local NBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox network affiliates in various U.S. markets, according to Streambuzz.net and its local affiliate chart. That makes YouTube TV the second largest live streaming service of local affiliates behind Hulu with Live TV which has 522.
